Hello everyone! Well after more years than I can remember now and around 200 dogs down the line, dog:links will be closing its doors at the end of this month.
I am taking my twelve beloved rescue tribe and moving over the Alps to Italy to a mountain retreat where I plan to spend several months settling me and the dogs in and finding our feet in our new home. Safe to say, once settled, I am sure there is a whole new beginning waiting and for sure dogs will be at the top of my list once more.
I still plan to help some of my dedicated rescuers here and in Romania, so until I actually wind up Doglinks Association, the donations will still be collected and used to assist in whatever way as always. So, should any of you feel able to grant one more last token of generous support, that would be marvellous. No donation is too small and always put to amazing good use for a dog.
My heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing people who have done the journey with me and dog:links over the years, the adopters who have given new life and gentle comfort ‘end of life’ to so many dogs caught in sad situations. All those who gave me the courage to keep going and put help my way for a dog in urgent need. We can’t save them all, but those we did, counted in ways that can never be quantified adequately because words just don’t nail it. To see the eyes of a dog rescued, comforted in fear, respond to a kind touch and eat a much missed nourishing meal before resting exhausted in a first warm bed….words don’t come close. But I have seen all this and more and so I feel humbled and thankful for the small contribution I have been able to make with your help.
And it all started here, oh so many years ago 🙂
Last but by no means least, my amazing son who put dog:links together for me, the designs the technical work and the troubleshooting when technology got the better of me. By his donations of large amounts of his time and generosity of heart towards helping me with rescuing some of my dogs, fundraising by setting up my jewellery making studio for me and so much more. A mother could never want for more.
Goodbye everyone, dogs are packing their bags thought they don’t know it yet and I am sure we will all be in touch again soon. A bientôt!
