This stunning boy was rescued from gypies and children who were abusing him as a small puppy 😦  that was 8 years ago!!!  He is now 9 and has spent all his life in the SPA, can this be fair?  Overlooked all these years because he’s not pushy and also hidden away from view till the SPA came under new management…

Even

Even2

Even has served his time and so much more and he just needs his own home!  Castrated, vaccinated and of course chipped.  Read what the staff at the refuge say about him, watch the video and please get in touch with me, Evelyn, on 05 65 69 12 26 or email me at doglinks.fr@gmail.com if you can do right by this wonderful fellow and right the wrong of so many years of waiting.  Thank you so much.

When you approach Even in his kennel, he’s like a skateboarder coming to the top of a half-pipe! He runs up the wire mesh and does a 360 degree turn so you can see his belly. That sort of thing scares anyone coming along thinking of adopting a dog… they think Even is a little wild…
But what they don’t realise is that Even has got plenty of reasons to go a little wild when he thinks someone is going to take him for a walk… They don’t know that Even has been in the refuge since he was 6 months old… and that Even will be 9 in a few months’ time…
Despite all his years in the kennels, Even is a very happy dog. Although his enthusiasm, understandably, gets the better of him when he realises he’s going out for a walk, he soon calms down and simply enjoys being out of the kennels. He doesn’t pull on the lead, comes when he’s a called and patiently sits down (smiling) waiting for a car to pass. He loves playing fetch (with anything!) and you make his day when he is allowed to take a tennis ball back to his kennel…
Even isn’t very good with very small children as he was abused by them as a pup and is scared. He is fine with female dogs but, when he is finally allowed to share someone’s house, we expect that he will want to make up for lost time and grab all the attention, so a large pack won’t be his thing.

I hope this video gives you a good idea of his loving character and that someone will take him into their heart, as he so deserves it!!!
Please share him far and wide… more than 8 years in the refuge is more than enough…

  1. I can’t believe that this gorgeous, darling dog has been left to languish in the SPA for all these years. Please to goodness someone will at last fall in love with him. What’s not to love? How good is he that he is so adorable and good at walking etc despite the life he’s had. Surely his initial excitability, explained above is not going to put someone off. An enclosed garden, love, warm basket, and regular walks would be the heaven for him he so deserves. Believe me, if only I could have him I would.

  2. Bumping up Even. I’m feeling so sorry that this dog still seems to be unwanted. If anyone is put off by the fact that he’s been in an SPA for 8/9 yrs then don’t be. Re-read the description of his personality and let me re-assure you maybe that it does not mean he’ll be a pain in the house. I have a dog who was at an SPA for 5 yrs, who was very scared and hid at the back of her cage, who was not brought forward by the staff. She has been so easy it’s untrue. I have never had an accident in the house, I was expecting that for a while. Just took her into the garden after a meal for a few days She is quiet, gets excited meal times, sits down as soon as she comes in the house, very biddable. I feel from his description that Even could well be the same. Alright excitable and bouncy to start, he’s not scared as such, like mine, but I think he’ll just so adore having a garden, home, good grub and treats, basket, maybe a settee with somebody who loves him, he’ll just be a wonderful well behaved pal to have about.
