Just a picture of Toffee looking very smart and confident in his new home – beach walks and rough and tumble play times with friend Lily have given this boy a whole new life! If only more were as lucky as him. Go Toffee…you deserve every wonderful moment and your scary lost days in France now a fading memory 🙂
So the fantastic news is that our little Toffee arrived in the UK a couple of days ago! He was good as gold on the journey and is busy exploring his new garden, his new playmate and his lovely new forever home with friends of dog:links Sue and Steve! Today he was going for a walk on the beach! Yay! From wandering, lost little soul, to a wonderful home and all thanks to his rescuer Hilary who found him and looked after him till all his papers and vaccinations made him ready for his new life. One very lucky boy!
So I am very happy to report that Toffee has a home waiting in the UK with some great friends of mine who used to live in France and have supported and adopted through dog:links in years gone by 🙂 Toffee’s rescuer, Hilary, is beginning his passport and vaccinations and says she will hopefully be able to hang on to him without too much stress, until he can travel to Calais after his 21 days rabies is done. Steve will be coming over to collect him and take him home to Lincolnshire where he has a pal and lots and lots of walks waiting for him….how about that for one more happy ending to 2017?
This young lad was found by a friend of dog:links wandering cold, hungry and lost for days near to Bellac in the Haute Vienne – dept 87
We have called him Toffee – vet has checked for ID but there is neither micro-chip nor tattoo and nobody in the area seems to know him, so we are assuming he has been dumped.
He is friendly and craves affection – he’s clean at night and very obviously been in a home. He’s scared to go too far away from the house and dashes back after a walk round the garden. Unfortunately the other two dogs in the house cannot tolerate ANY other dogs and would certainly do him harm, so he is getting very stressed when separated at night and during the day. He sits in the kitchen whilst his food is prepared and loves being inside with human company and affection.
He CANNOT stay where he is beyond the next few days! Please please can someone foster him at least whilst I try and find him a home….failing that, I am afraid he is going to have to go to the SPA in Limoges where there are 250 dogs and counting and he will just disappear…..so sad for this little mite 😦 He’s not big 10/12kgs and very bright and deserves to get a break. He is not castrated.
I will help with travel if someone will take him on and save him from the fate of ending up in the refuge? Humans have let him down already…my last dog of 2017, can we help him please??
Just call me, Evelyn, 05 65 69 12 26 (be sure to leave me a message with contact number so I can get back to you if I don’t pick up immediately) or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org – all emails checked throughout the day.
Who will give this little lad a break??
