Gentle, timid but oh so lovely…..she has waiting so long for a home to call her own.
Pimousse is 4yrs old, vaccinated, chipped and sterilised.
Pimousse is a timid dog, she needs time and patience to get used to her new family. But she is actually a sweet, cheeky and friendly dog, given the chance. Life in the Refuge did not help Pimousse overcome her timidity. Now she is with a wonderful British foster family who are making huge progress with her confidence. So the new owners of Pimousse should be experienced and consistent dog owners who will continue her training with a firm but kind routine. She can still be very afraid of the unknown (people and unfamiliar situations). It is essential that her new family must be prepared to give her plenty of time. Ideally a family with at least one other friendly, active, outgoing dog, would suit Pimousse as she adores the company of other dogs, she loves to play with them all day long. Another confident dog in the family would be a tremendous help in settling her into a new environment. A large well-fenced garden is also a MUST. Pimousse has lots of energy and should be regularly walked.
She has something of a hunting instinct but she is also obedient so this can be channeled. She is capable of accepting cats as part of the fmaily but the adopters should ideally have a cat flap! Cohabitation with cats is certainly possible with the usual careful introductions.
Pimousse travels well in a car, is house trained, sleeps well indoors and is used to sleeping in a closed dog crate/cage if need be (not seen as a punishment, but a haven for her). If you would like to discuss further with us the possible adoption of Pimousse, to meet her and her foster family… please get in touch :-
