Fostering saves lives, brings immediate comfort and respite, brings understanding of a dog’s needs, brings the ‘forever’ home into the picture.  Just a few reasons why fostering is so important and wonderful.

The new year is now with us, festivities and travel to relations done for a while – but the winter months are far from over and we have so many dogs who would benefit from a warm fireside, some good food, gentle walks and most importantly of all, some TLC.  If adoption is not a step you want to commit to in the short term, but you do have the time and experienced home to be able to help a poor soul, then my contacts will support a foster situation – all you have to do is feed and care for a dog.  Give it time and help it adjust to a decent life and my contacts and I will be there to guide you through if need be, listen to your comments on the dog and of course, begin to look for the home it will have for the rest of it’s life……. the RIGHT home thanks to your help!

There are no fees involved, vet bills (if any) will be taken care of and in many cases we can get a dog to you once we are sure a secure and loving environment awaits.  I have foster friends who would be happy to share their experiences with you and be at the end of a ‘phone with some useful tips – but hey, it’s not rocket science 🙂 it’s a poor dog who has fallen on hard times for a hundred different reasons.  Dogs who are left to suffer in a cold cement cell, stressed and confused with refuge life and just need to be gathered up and given a chance to have the life they maybe had once upon a time and lost, or never had the good fortune to know.

Please get in touch with me, Evelyn, 05 65 69 12 26 or email at doglinks.fr@gmail.com and we can talk it through.  Every little helps to fight the ever growing tide of sad dogs who have done nothing wrong but are suffering miserably for no good reason other than nobody cares 😦

  1. She is growing into a lovely sweet girl I hope she finds a home soon !!!!
It is sad to see so many dogs needing homes…….I hope 2014 is her lucky number xxxx

  2. Fostering is such an important job & anyone can do it If you are unsure about getting a dog fostering gives you the chance to see if you want to take on the responsibilities of having a dog…You must ask yourself a number of questions…..

1…Do you want to go out on those cold wet nights & it’s blowing a gale…..?
2..Do you want to clean up peep etc ?
Well this is part of having a dog, but then again it’s fabulous on a lovely summer’s day just to grab the lead & take your mate out for a stroll on the beach or on the many brown lane walks there are available
I have just taken on another dog from our local refuge poor thing is as thin as a rake a little timid but I have has worse
She needs some TLC & then hopefully she will be ready for a forever home….
Go on do it & I ‘m sure you will never look back!
    Good Luck xx
